Conservation Principles of Continuum Mechanics
From the Course Catalog: Discussion of continuous media using a unified approach; conservation laws, fundamental concepts, and examples of their use: heat conduction, Newtonian fluids, linear elastic solids; axial bars, torsion, shear and moment diagrams, beam bending.
Prerequisites: ENGR 211; MATH 308 or registration therein.

The homework is due at the beginning of the class. I will not accept late homework under any circumstances. To take care of unforeseen circumstances, I'll drop the worst two scores of the semester.
On special occasions throughout the course, we travel high into the mountains for a 'Kathmandu Moment.' From our elevated vantage, we may see the Broader Picture and understand where our derivations and algebra fit into the context of the real world. This site is the mountain top. From here, we see the scope of AERO 214 laid out before us, and we may appreciate our current study in terms of the material as a whole.
